Cat Hepburn is an award winning scriptwriter, spoken word artist and workshop facilitator based in Glasgow. Since completing an MA in TV Fiction Writing in 2013, she has written a variety of work for stage and screen. As well as story-writing for long running television shows such as River City and Hollyoaks, she has written numerous short films. In 2016, Cat received a Royal Television Society Scotland award for an animated short that she wrote with media co-op. Cat is also co-host and curator for Sonnet Youth, a popular cabaret night in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. In addition to performing her work at regular spoken word nights, her poetry has featured on BBC The Social, BBC6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland, Hidden Door festival, and on TV programmes River City, and STV’s The Late Show. For ten years, Cat has worked in workshop facilitation, and has led workshops for a wide range of participants including young people and migrants, in areas such as spoken word and creative writing. She is also an associate lecturer in screenwriting at University of West Scotland.
