Glasgow CAN is currently in the process of establishing the ‘Glasgow Arts Partnership’ Consortium which will help us to bridge the gap between grassroots practitioners and and funded projects.
Glasgow CAN has teamed up with Just Enterprise and P4P to establish a ‘Managing Agent’ Consortium.
Becoming a managing agent allows Glasgow CAN to tender for contract opportunities with public bodies, such as Glasgow City Council, on behalf of its members. This enables its members to access additional sources of income which usually they could not access due to their size, or not being able to deliver the full requirement. It also enables Glasgow CAN to generate additional income through a contract management fee to support the network’s sustainability.
How does it work?
Being a managing agent consortium allows Glasgow CAN to bids for contracts and find other organisations (i.e. its members who express an interest in a specific tender opportunity) to deliver the services. Glasgow CAN would be main contact for the buyer during the contract delivery and would be responsible for overall management and back office functions.
Who are Just Enterprise and P4P?
Just Enterprise is the national business support programme for social enterprises in Scotland, whereas P4P supports social enterprises to access tender opportunities in partnership with others. Both Just Enterprise and P4P are funded by the Scottish Government. If you would like to learn more about P4P and the work it does you can visit www.p4p.org.uk.
