Activism and poetry share a commonality in creating spaces where marginalised people can reflect and move beyond the way they have been treated. My poems are ways of exploring and explaining the fragmented identity I have as well as spaces to provide representation of conversations I feel are needed, through poetry. Working as an organiser within my community allows my world view to expand and incorporate the complexity of attempting to make change, whilst working within structures not attuned to radical action. My poetry is layered through this work and does not sit in isolation from the issues it focuses on.
