David Cherry is an independent filmmaker, film programmer, workshop facilitator and digital content manager. He studied television at Cardonald College in 2008 followed by an honours degree in Screenwriting and Filmmaking from the University of the West of Scotland. With awards for editing and collaborations with notable clients across the central belt, his work is people based with a strong connection to community. Epilepsy awareness raising film ‘Zone Out’, which he edited, won the International Epilepsy Day film competition against over 40 entries from all around the world. His community connections root from being a former carer and a love for his local community in the Southside of Glasgow, working with as a film programmer for Southside Film Festival and volunteering with various other local festivals and organisations.
