London-born Emilie Boyd has been working as an in-demand vocalist in Scotland for over a decade. She’s sold out venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh with her own projects ‘Emilie Boyd Quintet’ and ‘Like a Cat Tied to a Stick: Radiohead Reimagined’, and has been a backing vocalist and collaborator with names such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Natasha Bedingfield, Rachel Sermanni, Tom McGuire and the Brassholes, Hamish Stuart (Average White Band), Andy Alston (Del Amitri), Mica Paris and Emeli Sande under her belt. She has honed her creative vocal talent over the years by working within the fiercely talented jazz community in Glasgow and in 2020 was nominated in the ‘Best Vocalist’ category at the Scottish Jazz Awards. She is currently releasing original music with vocal trio ‘Little Acres’, with jazz/folk pianist Dan Brown under the duo ‘Glassworks’, and with DJ/producer Rebecca Vasmant for the renowned ‘Tru Thoughts’ label.
One of Emilie’s great passions is community music, and she has worked all over Glasgow with everyone from babies to people in care homes, delivering accessible and inspiring group singing sessions. She believes very strongly in the power of group and community music making to benefit individual wellbeing.
