Emma Gillanders is a Falkirk based artist, who works across Scotland.
She has always enjoyed creative arts, and graduated with a BA in Photography from the City of Glasgow College in 2018.
Her practice often incorporates experimentation. Deviation from common photography techniques regularly results in work that appears painterly, otherworldly, and surreal.
Throughout her time as an artist, Emma has worked with Glasgow CAN and The Bold Collective to connect with the wider arts community in the city and beyond, and has exhibited her artwork at exhibitions in London, Stirling, Aberdeen and Glasgow.
As well as her photography profession, Emma is also interested in experimental craft based arts. She is self-taught in weaving and felting, and is currently starting her own business, creating wax melts as well as ornamental resin works. She has gone on to teach these practices to others through skill sharing workshops at various Bold Collective events.
Recognising the importance of a supportive network in the arts, Emma continues to volunteer with The Bold Collective as a facilitator and organiser for events.
