GTAC is a beautiful artist run rehearsal complex in the heart of Govan. The organisation is supported by its membership of artists on a voluntary and non profit basis. We prioritise the support of professional, mid and early career artists to develop new work without massive cost to their personal finances. By pooling our collective resources we are able to offer the space for as little as £3.00 per hour to our membership and at the competitive rate of £8.00 per hour to the wider creative community.

The organisation was founded by a group of artists in 2011, who identified a lack of affordable and independent spaces in city. A company limited by guarantee was formed using a cooperative model with the objective that the space would empower artists. The space now supports 25 performance and experimental artists and through them up to further 150 artists make use of the space through their activities. Over the years many exciting projects have been developed in our space and then gone on to successful premieres at Scottish venues and festivals.

Our facility occupies the top floor of one of Govan’s most historical properties and comprises of a large bright rehearsal room with black out curtains and a PA, a hot desk office, a kitchen, storage and some of the best views out across the city. The space can be booked flexibly by its members and is used for rehearsals, training sessions, public workshops and performances.

Current members include actors, directors, dancers, circus artists, filmmakers, musicians and designers. 2017 was one of our most successful years yet, with work made in our space exhibited or performed at venues such as Gallery of Modern Art, The CCA, The Tron, Tramway, Edinburgh Festival and Merchant City Festival.
