I am a socially engaged artist based in Glasgow, Scotland, creating site specific artworks responding to the relationships between people and their environment; natural, social and built. I was born in Leeds and studied Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 2011, since then I have undertaken a wide range of residencies, commissions and exhibitions in Scotland, England, Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria and Sri-Lanka.
My projects are action-led and playful, taking place in nature reserves, pavements, rivers, neighbourhoods, hospitals, fields and parks. I make permanent and temporary public art works which facilitate new opportunities for recreation and interpret the history or ecology of places. I undertake artist-led research and orchestrate creative workshops and happenings to engage people in the design and future strategies for environmentally sustainable spaces. I use playful methodologies to invite public participation, create debate and empower people to take a lead on the future of the built and natural environment.
