I am currently freelance and have been since graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2010 where I specialised in Cinematography.
I have been lucky enough to participate in many competitive Directing programmes such as Directors UK Film Lab 2012 for new talent as well as Odense Talent Lab 2014 where I attended masterclasses with Award winning directors and producers.
I was a participant of the Terre Di Cinema’s CineCampus 2017 in Sicily as a director where I was able to shoot my short film on 35mm film stock and participate in classes with Oscar winning Cinematographer Ed Lackman ASC.
I have independently produced my own short films, one of which winning the Best Student Film at the Thurrock International Film festival 2012 and another nominated for best Sci-Fi at the Limelight Film Awards as well as receiving a ‘pick of the bunch’ during the last Virgin Media Shorts Awards.
During this time I directed a ten episodic storyline for WhatsYourPersona? which was broadcast worldwide for their App in 2012.
After graduating I worked within the camera department in various roles from Data Wrangler to Director of Photography on multiple formats and genres including a Promo for BBC Scotland and a feature length documentary. I was fortunate enough to assist Oscar winning Cinematographer Michael McDonough as my first professional credit and learn from DoP’s such as John Rhodes BSC.
I was also given the great opportunity to shadow Director Colm McCarthy (Girl with all the Gifts) on season 4 of Black Mirror, where I learned a lot about the craft and the nature of TV, and was invited back to observe the post-production workflow.
I am currently an official member of BAFTA Crew under the Camera Department.
