Make Do and Grow is a social enterprise focussed on supporting growing families, developing creativity and encouraging re-use.
Based in Govan, Glasgow, our children’s shop offers low cost, pre-loved clothes and toys for toddlers to teens in a relaxed space where children are encouraged to play, draw and read and grownups can chat.
Our internal workshop area is the heart of the enterprise, offering a variety of free and low-cost creative classes. Most sessions reuse scrap and household materials, reducing waste, encouraging wider creative thinking and making activities replicable for families at home.
Our creative sessions have won an award through HOOP and our bespoke arts, crafts and games birthday parties receive 5* reviews.
Externally, the creative team offer arts and crafts workshops for community groups across Glasgow. We specialise in activities which will inspire children and engage grownups to create together, building familial and community bonds.
Make Do and Grow is lead by founder Kaytie Lilley and a fabulous bunch of creative parents with support from some very talented individuals from across Glasgow. Our name reflects our desire to encourage making and doing but also making-do, reusing resources we already have, enabling our children to grow in their creativity, families to grow in confidence and well-being and our community to grow as a result.
