Nicolette Macleod forges emotive textural journeys through music and song; with stirring melodies, chest beaten rhythms, hypnotic looping, field recordings and instrumentation.
Nicolette has supported and sung alongside artists including The Irrepressibles, The Leisure Society and Karine Polwart. Her vocals have been used in feature film and on albums receiving prime time radio play on BBC2 and BBC6.
Recent commissions include; creating a bespoke soundscape for The Courtauld Gallery in London, composing music for new plays, Sophia by Frances Poet and Who Are You by Timberlake Wertenbaker, performing self penned music for the Chinese Classics Translation Project, in association with the The Royal Lyceum Edinburgh and The Royal Shakespeare Company.
In 2022 Nicolette toured her solo show ‘The Sea and Me’, an hour long show that weaves together song, stories and personal anecdotes exploring themes of marine conservation, exploration and the magnitude of the sea. The show was chosen to be part of supported programme by The Touring Network.
