Re:Craft Glasgow is a Community Interest Company (CIC) whose main business activity is the reselling of part used, no longer wanted, arts and crafts materials that are donated. We also aim to educate people about waste, reuse and recycling through delivering interactive workshops that reduce waste and divert usable items from landfill. We are currently based in The Hidden Lane in Finnieston.
Re:Craft stocks arts and crafts supplies, along with some dry recycling items (such as wine bottle corks, plastic takeaway tubs, sweet boxes and other odds and ends that would have been destined for landfill). What we have in stock varies as it is all sourced via donations, however we most often have a large amount of fabric, wool, paint and jewellery making supplies. These are bought by people, both individuals and community groups, to be reused, recycled or upcycled.
Re:Craft holds workshops on recycling, repurposing, reusing and upcycling. We work with local community groups and other social enterprises and charities, and supply materials for their use. This creates a social impact through reducing waste in the local area by educating people on how best to reduce waste in their everyday lives and influencing others to do so.
