I, Victoria Rankin, am an installation artist in fourth year of Sculpture and Environmental Art course at Glasgow School of Art. I also have an HND in Contemporary Art Practice, and two Art and Design diplomas from Edinburgh College.
At the moment I am making work to provoke thought on repressed emotions as a result of oppression. With ideas revolving around the persona, the shadow and the self. Through these themes, I also hope to create awareness around the objectification of woman, mainly highlighting issues around how woman are ‘meant’ to be perceived visually and behave in front of others.
I really enjoy working in different specialisms – 2D, 3D, sound and digital.
